Aberdeen City Council is promoting a national initiative which alerts when air quality could pose a risk to individuals with heart conditions or breathing problems.
Those who sign up to the free service will receive a text message or e-mail advising them when poor air quality is forecast for the day ahead.
People can subscribe to the free alert service through the Scottish Air Quality website www.scottishairquality.co.uk. When moderate or worsening air quality is forecast for the day ahead they will receive a text or an email.
